- CHARACTER INFORMATION
NAME: Usagi Chiba
AGE: 19
GENDER: Female
BACKGROUND: Her background is canon up to a point.
Usagi's canon point diverges from the series during the events of StarS, when she attempted to return to her future for the final time... things didn't go the way they had every other time. Instead, she returns to a future unlike any she's known before. It's... normal. Somehow, the fabric of time had been twisted and the events she's familiar with never technically happen. No Crystal Tokyo. No Time travel. Nothing. So everything she remembers, she's the only one aware that any of it even happened.
Baffled, and considered... a very confused, creative kid Usagi grows up a fairly normal life. Well, as normal as your life can be when your mom and her friends fight monsters and are magical beings anyway.
When Usagi turns fourteen her mom and the inner senshi all retire and Usagi and her new team take over the magical protection of Earth. Her transformation receives a noticeable upgrade at this time and she becomes Sailor Neo Moon. Typical magical girl shenanigans happen.
Currently Usagi is a first year college student. She usually lives in a rented house with her senshi. It deemed important that the girls have some independence and autonomy from the senior senshi.
PERSONALITY:
Usagi used to hate the comparison, but she's a lot like her mom.... with very generous sprinklings of Mamoru's influence to balance her out.
Usagi before the AU
Usagi is kind, though ultimately not quite as kind as Usagi Sr. Her early life was pretty rough the first time around, she had a problem with bullies as a little kid and just generally being isolated from anything even remotely resembling proper 'peers' due to her halted aging and general 'weirdness'. It takes a while for her to overcome this social awkwardness, but eventually she prevails while in the past, learning how to make friends and just becoming a more outgoing person in general. Other than this, as she's still a child she's emotionally immature and quite hot-headed. Wanting to be independent, but not being quite up to the task. She's also someone who gets frustrated by failure and imperfections, because she wants to be a proper lady. Wants to be mature, but just... fails at it, because she's still mentally a child.
Usagi after the AU
Growing up with a set of memories that no one else has is a little hard, but honestly? It's been so many years that the fact no one believed her doesn't even bother her anymore. Sometimes you just have to let the past be the past and move on with your life.
Usagi is a very cheerful person. Life's been rough, but she hasn't let that stop her or slow her down. She lives life her way and even if it's hard, she finds a way to make things work. This time around any attempts at bullying don't bother her, because she knows who she is and their words mean nothing. Instead, she feels sorry for them, because what could be going on in their own lives that they lash out at others like that? In True Usagi fashion, she often attempts to befriend her bullies. Believing that everyone is good deep down and wanting to help them if she can. She doesn't like seeing people hurting if there's even a possibility she can help fix it.
Due to this belief, she's also very outgoing. Usagi is the sort of person who will strike up a conversation with anyone. Especially those who tend to hang back and seem shy. She loves adopting introverts and helping them make more friends or just have more fun! Which is actually how she re-meets her senshi. Knowing who they were helped, but since the Amazoness Quartet don't remember anything, it's up to her to help them awaken to their true potential as guardians. The first she finds is Vesta, whose hotheadedness and stand-offish attitude left her ostracized at school. It's not an easy reunion, because Vesta proves bitter, but in the end Usagi wins her over after weeks of trying. Never let it be said that a Usagi gives up! Her mama didn't raise a quitter.
From her father, she inherits some of his bookishness. Usagi enjoys books and reading in a way that Usagi Sr never quite achieves. Study sessions with the aid of her mother's Guardian of Wisdom, Ami help her appreciate good grades. Though she never quite achieves the zeal for school that Ami herself has. Preferring more creative pursuits like writing and stories. Her new dream, now that she's grown up and the lady she'd always dreamed of being, is to record the history of the moon kingdom as well as the chronicles of the senshi. Seeing it as important history that she doesn't want to see get lost. Again. Should technically use reading glasses (Another inheritance from Mamoru) but she's been a bit vain about the whole thing and tends to prefer not using them. After all her eyes aren't that bad she can see just fine! So maybe she's a little vain too.
Despite how harshly she criticized her mama for it in the past , Usagi ends up inheriting an innate ability to somehow be late constantly. No matter how she tries, and she does try, she somehow ends up losing time and running at least five-ten minutes late on a regular basis. At least she's not as clumsy as her mama! ... well, most of the time she isn't as clumsy. Sometimes it's easy to get your legs tangled up when you're running late. That's all.
Appearance: Much like her mother did at this age, except of course with the different hairstyle and coloring. And she's a little taller. Thanks papa.
POWERS: She doesn't have Luna P in fact in this time line she never technically did.
Her Senshi abilities are much the same as her mother's which isn't a surprise because in her world Usagi officially retired and "hung up the tiara" so to speak when her daughter became fourteen and was able to work with her own team (The quartet and occasionally Saturn) and battle evil on her own.
Word for the wise, she's obviously not called Sailor Chibi Moon anymore, in fact having received the title of Sailor Neo Moon when she was fourteen and fully accepted the position from her mother. Her color scheme is still the same as it ever was, basically just replace pink or chibi with neo and that's the only difference.Except Pink Sugar Heart Attack, that died a painful death never to be used again
